This is a highly responsive and very sensitive sensor, which is capable of detecting gases such as: butane, liquefied petroleum gas, propane, methane, alcohol, smoke, hydrogen and other harmful gases.
The MQ-2 gas sensor has a very reliable stability and is highly sensitive to smoke, natural gas, and methane gas in the air.
The gas-sensitive material used in MQ-2 gas sensor is tin dioxide (SnO2) with low conductivity in clean air. When there is combustible gas in the environment where the sensor is located, the conductivity of the sensor increases with the increase of the combustible gas concentration in the air. Using a simple circuit, the change in conductivity can be converted into an output signal corresponding to the gas concentration. MQ-2 gas sensor has high sensitivity to liquefied gas, propane and hydrogen, and it is also ideal for detecting natural gas and other combustible vapors. This sensor can detect a variety of flammable gases and is a low-cost sensor suitable for a variety of applications.
Works well
Great price, great value. Easy setup
Good product
Easy to use. Great to start a project.
Surprisingly easy to use
One of the better Arduino sensors. It seems to be a bit over-sensitive when you first turn it on, providing a false positive. Just let it run for a while and it works.
Cheap and Good
It is a standard sensor unit, it works! Takes a bit of time to get it to stabilize and provide reliable readings - usually 10 minutes or so. Use it to measure particulates in a 3D Printing enclosure and so far it worked very well. This sensor is 5V and works well.
Easily interfaced gas sensors
It is very easily interfaced to an Arduino-like microcontroller and gives repeatable but uncalibrated results.
Great sensor for Arduino use
Great sensor for Arduino use. Lots of information online about use with the Arduino.
